The Strand Road extends along the Kolkata's Hooghly river from the northern point of Chandpaul Ghaut to beyond Fort William and Prinsep's Ghaut, near Tolly's Nulla. The Road was part of Marquess Wellesley's scheme for the embankment of the river.
